BLUEFLAME™ Dryers

At 3,650,000 BTU, our BLUEFLAME™ dryer features the largest burner made for a 28” fan. This powerful fan and heater combination is powered by a 13-hp single- or 3-phase electric motor. It provides enough heat to warm freezing air to 200° F.  The BLUEFLAME™, implementing a Hi-Low burner control, provides the most evenly heated drying air for the Shivvers counter-flow drying system.

 

With the addition of a Turbo-Booster fan you can increase drying capacity in any counter-flow performance system.  Working together, the BLUEFLAME™ dryer with a Turbo-Booster can deliver air at up to 14” of static pressure – higher than any low speed centrifugal fan on the market today. The 13-hp Turbo-Booster fan easily bolts to the BLUEFLAME™ dryer and interconnects with its safety controls. A separate start-stop switch and magnetic starter are standard on the turbo unit.  The Turbo-Booster fan is not required for the Shivvers Performance System, but is an easy way to increase its capacity.

 

BLUEFLAME™ II

Also available for Shivvers Performance Systems is a Shivvers 20-hp 3-phase Centrifugal Fan  and a BLUE-FLAME II™ burner with 3,200,000 BTU. The Shivvers Centrifugal Fan allows Performance Systems to be used in noise restricted areas.

Designed and built to maximize the drying capacity of your Shivvers Performance System, the BLUEFLAME™ provides peak drying efficiency with minimal fuel consumption. You can choose a BLUEFLAME™ model to burn liquid propane or natural gas. Because each dryer burns with an intense blue flame, you're assured of the right gas/air mixture for clean, complete fuel consumption.  The Hi-Low burner control assures consistently even heat.

Drying Air Heated Up Uniformily

  • Shivvers specially designed family of extended V-Bar Burners spread out the drying heat and deliver uniformily heated drying air that prevents overdrying in localized areas.  (Industry standard short and "gun type" burners produce localized hot areas resulting in streams of both hot and cold air, therefore producing hot and cold spots under the bin floor.)
  • Our famous Blue Flame is your assurance of high efficiency, total combustion of fuel.
  • Heavy walled schedule 80 pipe vaporizer tubing provides long life and an extra margin of safety with liquid propane.
  • Shivvers Air Damping Valves with counter weights automatically seals off the plenum from vermin when the fan stops blowing.  It also seals the plenum and prevents costly air loss if one of two or more fans shouls shut down.
  • Standard Plenum High Limits guard against excessive high temperatures in your valuable grain.
  • Built vaporizer output connectors provide optional propane tank heating in winter weather condititions where maximum heating is required - such as in North Dakota and Wisconsin.
